AboutAE 

Ali Eteraz is an American writer. He grew up in the Caribbean, Pakistan, and the American South.

 

His debut short story collection, Falsipedies and Fibsiennes, was published in September, 2014 (Guernica Editions). His short stories have appeared in storySouthChicago Quarterly ReviewAkashic Books, Crossborder, and Forge Journal, among others. His first story was a finalist for a Glimmer Train Short Story Award for New Writers and in 2014 he was longlisted for the Million Writers Award. In 2014, he won the the 3 Quarks Daily Arts & Literature Prize judged by Man Booker Prize finalist and NYT book columnist Mohsin Hamid.

 

Eteraz is the author of the critically acclaimed memoir Children of Dust
(HarperCollins, 2009). It was selected as a New Statesman Book of the Year and was featured on PBS with Tavis Smiley, NPR with Terry Gross, C-SPAN2, and numerous international outlets.

 

Eteraz graduated magna cum laude from Emory University. He is a lawyer and an inhabitant of the San Francisco Writer's Grotto where he is at work on his next project.
